Peters and Tillis offer ‘PREPARED for AI Act’ requiring risk assessments in government contracts

Senate Homeland Security Chairman Gary Peters (D-MI) and Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) have introduced a bill that would require federal agencies to classify risk levels of their artificial intelligence uses, as well as identify, test and monitor for potential risks “before, during and after” purchasing tools from AI vendors, and to include multiple safety and security terms in contracts, among other elements.
