Analysis: Senate closed-door forums produce early AI policy priorities

The Senate’s closed-door forums hosted by Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) since mid-September have produced a series of policy priorities on the safe and ethical use of artificial intelligence, including an agreement on increased federal funding for research and an emerging legal “duty of care” standard for AI development and use.
