As NIST comment period closes, DOJ’s antitrust officials invite feedback for regulating AI

The Justice Department’s antitrust division has set a deadline for receiving public comment on how and when artificial intelligence should be regulated -- and remain unregulated -- to protect innovation and competition in the marketplace, while a top NIST official marked the end of a crucial period in that agency’s work facilitating the development of fundamental standards.

The DOJ division will accept submissions at atr2024aiworkshop@usdoj.gov through July 15 on issues covered May 30 during a daylong event it cohosted...
