Rep. Obernolte urges quick congressional action on AI to stem tide of state laws

Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-CA) is urging his congressional colleagues to act quickly on enacting contextual-based regulation for artificial intelligence, to avoid a proliferation of state-level requirements that industry has warned against.

Obernolte co-chaired a bipartisan House AI task force in the last Congress that released its final report in December, which he said should guide lawmakers in codifying those recommendations, in April 2 remarks at the Information Technology Industry Council’s Intersect conference.
