Connecticut Senate prioritizes passage of AI regulations, spurred on by Colorado

Democratic leaders in the Connecticut Senate have prioritized passage this year of legislation for regulating artificial intelligence, after the General Assembly last year failed to enact a Senate-backed bill, with the chamber’s leaders now citing Colorado’s recent enactment of AI regulations to spur on Connecticut lawmakers to follow suit.

The Connecticut legislature reconvened on Jan. 8 with Democrats controlling both chambers and the governor’s office, and Senate leaders listing AI legislation for transparency, accountability and criminalizing AI-generated sexually exploitative content...
