Trump executive order ‘refocuses’ AI cybersecurity efforts
President Trump on June 6 signed a highly anticipated cybersecurity executive order making changes to requirements for software security and post-quantum cryptography, while also adjusting the federal government’s artificial intelligence security approach, Inside Cybersecurity reported.
According to a June 6 fact sheet, the EO “refocuses artificial intelligence (AI) cybersecurity efforts towards identifying and managing vulnerabilities, rather than censorship.” The Trump EO overhauls President Biden’s Executive Order 14144 issued in January, including significant revisions to a section on AI.
