Meta cites TikTok debacle as FTC antitrust suit heads to trial

Tech giant Meta is citing the government’s failure to block China-based TikTok from operating in the United States to criticize the Federal Trade Commission’s antitrust complaint, which is heading to trial April 14.

“It’s absurd that the FTC is trying to break up a great American company at the same time the Administration is trying to save Chinese-owned TikTok,” writes Meta chief legal officer Jennifer Newstead in an April 13 blog post.
