Health researchers call for regulatory overhaul to accommodate AI benefits

It’s urgent that federal regulators of artificial intelligence tools used in medicine quickly change their outdated regulatory pathways to suit new technologies and offer providers more clarity about the data used in training tools they may integrate into their practice, according to participants at a recent Stanford University workshop, as reported by Inside Health Policy.

They agreed public-private partnerships will be key for new approval standards and called for better post-market surveillance.
