Google releases playbook for new chief AI officers

Google and analytics firm IDC on Oct. 16 unveiled a playbook for the chief artificial intelligence officers freshly installed across the federal government.

The CAIO positions were created under President Biden’s 2023 AI executive order and have been filled on an acting basis at numerous agencies. “Seventy-three percent of federal departments and agencies are on track to hire a CAIO,” according to the playbook released at the Google Public Sector Summit in Washington, DC.
