FTC targets ‘deceptive claims around AI’ in action on kids’ online safety

The Federal Trade Commission has levied $5 million in fines and imposed a prohibition on “making misrepresentations about the capabilities of any artificial intelligence technology, and its ability to filter out cyberbullying,” in an order against NGL Labs and two of its co-founders, which provided an anonymous messaging service allegedly marketed toward children and teenagers.
