France, Germany, Italy agree on AI self-regulation model
France, Germany and Italy have reached an agreement on “mandatory self-regulation through codes of conduct” for AI foundational models, according to a Nov. 20 report by Reuters.
A yet-to-be-released report could speed negotiations among European Union members on a final draft of the AI Act approved by the EU Parliament in June, Reuters said. The report forgoes sanctions, but leaves the door open for future sanctions should violations of a code of conduct occur, Reuters reported.
