White House releases long-awaited ‘policy framework’ for preemptive AI legislation

The White House has released a long-awaited “national policy framework” to guide congressional efforts on artificial intelligence legislation that would preempt state regulation, under a directive in President Trump’s December AI executive order.

“The White House’s national AI legislative framework will unleash American ingenuity to win the global AI race, delivering breakthroughs that create jobs, lower costs, and improve lives for Americans across the country,” Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios said in a March 20 release....
