Venture capital firm a16z calls for new AI competitiveness institute at NIST

Andreessen Horowitz, known as a16z, is recommending a new National AI Competitiveness Institute to drive innovation under the Trump administration’s update to the national artificial intelligence research strategy.

“As a venture capital firm that invests in entrepreneurs building the future through technology, a16z has a deep interest in fostering a vibrant and competitive AI ecosystem,” a16z says in comments to the Trump administration. The firm’s Marc Andreessen is a close ally of the White House.
