Thune-Klobuchar AI bill attracts broad industry support for risk-based regulation

Legislation introduced by Sens. John Thune (R-SD) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) has attracted broad support from the tech industry for its approach to targeting regulations for high-risk uses of artificial intelligence.

“The legislation reflects the emerging consensus on the need for a risk-based approach to AI regulation that requires both developers and users of AI to assess and evaluate systems made for or deployed into high-risk contexts,” says BSA-The Software Alliance in support of the bill.
