Tech policy researcher finds China sits just two to five years behind U.S. on AI leadership

A researcher at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation says China is about five years behind the United States in developing high-volume manufacturing of cutting-edge semiconductor technology central to the development of artificial intelligence, a finding that could propel congressional proposals to advance U.S. leadership on global AI innovations.
