Tech group’s comments steer NIST away from ‘hypothetical’ frontier-AI risks
Companies developing and implementing foundational artificial intelligence dismissed certain safety concerns associated with the particularly large systems in comments to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
“Standards should reflect the real-world breadth of AI use and focus on real-world risk,” the Alliance for Trust in AI wrote in Feb. 2 comments responding to a Dec. 19 request for information ahead of NIST’s obligations under Executive Order 14110.
