Tech group to lobby ‘blue’ and ‘purple’ state lawmakers in campaign against AI ‘doomers’

The Chamber of Progress is launching a concerted effort to shift state legislatures away from regulations it says are too pessimistic about the possibilities of artificial intelligence and toward policies that would instead advance the technology, with a focus on Democratic strongholds as well as more marginal political areas.

“State AI policymaking should be driven by pragmatism, not panic,” Chamber of Progress vice president of U.S. policy and government relations K.J. Bagchi said in a Nov. 17 release.
