Stanford technologists warn DOJ’s antitrust officials of regulatory threat to open-source AI

Leading entrepreneurial artificial intelligence scholars in Silicon Valley voiced concerns to a senior Department of Justice official about the consequences for innovation and accountability of limiting access to “open-source” AI models, an approach to regulating the technology that is advancing in Congress.
