Sens. Young, Shaheen unveil quantum research bill amid National Science Foundation disarray

Sens. Todd Young (R-IN) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) have introduced a bill to coordinate federal research on quantum computing at the State Department, to promote U.S. leadership on advanced technologies including quantum-driven artificial intelligence.

Young, a leading voice on AI policies in the Senate, introduced a related bill in the last Congress that would have established a quantum research program through the National Science Foundation, which has faced budget and other pressures under the Trump administration.
