Sens. Young, Schatz offer bipartisan AI education bill based on Schumer-group recommendations

Sens. Todd Young (R-IN) and Brian Schatz (D-HI) have offered bipartisan legislation intended to educate the public about the risks and benefits of artificial intelligence, tasking the Commerce Department with mounting a campaign that includes “best practices” for identifying AI-generated “deepfakes” based on the recommendations that Majority Leader Charles Schumer’s (D-NY) AI working group released last month.
