Sens. Hickenlooper, Capito reintroduce ‘trustworthy’ AI assurance bill with industry backing

A bipartisan bill reintroduced by Sens. John Hickenlooper (D-CO) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) would direct NIST to develop guidelines for independent AI system evaluators, with the senators emphasizing both the need for guardrails and the measure’s voluntary nature.
