Sens. Hickenlooper, Braun query Labor Dept. on AI impacts to possibly guide legislation

Sens. John Hickenlooper (D-CO) and Mike Braun (R-IN), bipartisan leaders of a workforce safety subcommittee, are asking the Labor Department about its efforts for protecting and training workers affected by artificial intelligence under a Biden order, suggesting the information could guide developing legislation to support those initiatives.

“Artificial Intelligence is reshaping how we interact with every part of the world, including our workplaces,” says a Feb. 5 letter by Hickenlooper and Braun to Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su.
