Senators offer bipartisan bill to test high-risk AI systems in waning days of Congress

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), who will be retiring from Congress within days, is leading a bipartisan group of senators to introduce legislation for establishing a federal office to test the safety of artificial intelligence models that pose the greatest risks.
