Senators’ issues with AI range from kids’ protection to media consolidation

Google and Meta executives were quizzed by senators on how media consolidation could amplify negative effects from artificial intelligence and faced much sharper questions on AI-generated libelous content and the technology’s impacts on children, at a Senate Commerce hearing that underlined politically charged issues facing the booming AI industry.
