Senate to take up spending bills with AI provisions amid partisan wrangling

The Senate returns from recess to take up a trio of spending bills that include provisions promoting the use of artificial intelligence for national security and border protections, amid a likely partisan standoff after the Biden White House issued a veto threat over GOP-backed provisions in the version of the legislation that has already passed the House.
