Sen. Warner backs Copyright Office expansion of research liability waivers to identify AI bias

Senate Intelligence Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) is calling on the U.S. Copyright Office to provide legal protection for researchers to examine “bias and other harmful outputs” in artificial intelligence systems, in response to a petition in a proceeding under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
