Rep. Obernolte promotes AI select committee, notes ongoing open-source debate

Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-CA) is encountering familiar resistance in pushing for a select committee to propose bills on artificial intelligence following publication of a bipartisan report on the issue at the end of the last Congress.

Obernolte, who was co-chair of the bipartisan House AI task force and leads the research and technology panel of the House Science Committee, spoke Feb. 11 at the State of the Net event.
