Rep. Obernolte plans to reintroduce bill codifying AI Safety Institute

Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-CA) expanded on the role he sees the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute playing in governance of the technology, while pledging at a House Science Committee hearing to reintroduce legislation that would give the office statutory authority.
