Rep. Allen offers bill to codify FCC rule banning AI robocalls

Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA) has offered legislation to codify in law the Federal Communications Commission’s unanimous ruling last year under the Biden administration banning the use of artificial intelligence to generate automated robocalls.

The move demonstrates a rare area of bipartisan support for restricting the use of AI, with the bill being offered among a handful of initial AI-related proposals in the 119^th Congress.
