Privacy woes sink White House advisory group plan for AI analysis of police camera footage

A presidential advisory committee on artificial intelligence has put aside, for now, a proposed recommendation to establish statewide repositories for the video footage from police body-worn cameras, and to use AI to analyze that footage to identify policing trends and address long-standing concerns about discriminatory practices by law enforcement.
