Patent Office describes its embrace of AI after a tough IG review, agrees with recommendations

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office says it is implementing recommendations contained in a critical Inspector General report on the agency’s use of artificial intelligence systems, which found room for improvement in areas including “measurable objectives,” risk management and stakeholder engagement.

USPTO sees itself as one of the federal government’s most eager and capable adopters of AI, and its experiences and occasional hiccups will likely resonate with private sector deployers of AI systems.
