NTIA report weighing risks of open-weight AI models to be published in coming week

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration has met its July 26 deadline under President Biden’s artificial intelligence executive order for submitting a report with recommendations on the need to restrict the release of dual-use artificial intelligence models with widely available weights, and will publicly release it the week of July 29.
