NIST signs research deal for preventing AI misuse in biotech sciences

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has signed a two-year research agreement with a biotech science group on developing screening tools to prevent the misuse of artificial intelligence in the cutting-edge field of synthetic biology.

NIST says the agreement is part of its responsibilities under President Biden’s AI executive order for secure and safe AI uses.
