NIST examines voluminous public feedback on its roles in Biden AI order, under tight deadlines

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has collected hundreds of comment submissions on its assignments under President Biden’s Oct. 30 executive order on “the safe, secure, and trustworthy development and use of artificial intelligence,” and is sorting through input on issues such as the lines of responsibility between AI developers and deployers as it prepares a series of “deliverables” mandated by the EO.
