Meta argues benefit of AI ‘outweighs’ plaintiffs’ claims of copyright infringement

Meta Platforms is telling a federal district court that the public benefits of its large-language generative artificial intelligence outweigh the claims by plaintiffs that training of the AI model violated copyright protections, in a case that Meta says will determine the future of genAI technologies and its open-source Llama model.
