Major software group opposes California AI impact assessment bill, urges changes

BSA-The Software Alliance has come out against a bill in the California legislature that would set new impact assessment requirements for artificial intelligence developers and deployers, and among its provisions ban the use of automated decision-making tools when a deployer finds a “reasonable risk” of algorithmic discrimination.
