Liberal think tank says NIST AI framework, White House ‘bill of rights’ carry extra weight in absence of legislation

The Center for American Progress, a liberal policy nonprofit, says NIST’s work on generative artificial intelligence under President Biden’s AI executive order takes on added importance amid what it sees as slow-moving regulatory and legislative efforts, and emphasizes the central roles of the agency’s AI risk management framework and the “AI bill of rights” released in 2022 by the White House.
