Kagan’s AI warnings resonate in wake of SCOTUS’ ruling striking down Chevron

Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan has warned about the challenges for Congress in legislating safeguards for artificial intelligence if the high court were to strike down the decades-old Chevron doctrine granting regulatory discretion, which the court did on June 28 by siding with a fishing company against the National Marine Fisheries Service.
