Justice Dept. final rule on bulk data transfers points to AI risks

The Department of Justice has swiftly finalized a proposed rule restricting transfers of U.S. citizens’ sensitive data to China and other “countries of concern,” including for use in artificial intelligence systems, under a Biden executive order targeting the sale of “bulk data.”
