Judge grants Google’s request to dismiss copyright infringement claims over AI training

A federal judge in California has granted Google’s request to have a class-action lawsuit dismissed, citing a recent ruling by a different judge in the same court that threw out a similar copyright infringement case against a different artificial intelligence developer.

U.S. district court for northern California Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín on June 6 granted the company’s motion for dismissal of J.L. et al. v. Google, while allowing plaintiffs to file a second amended complaint within 21 days.
