Industry groups clash over Connecticut’s sweeping legislative plan for regulating AI

Two major tech industry groups are clashing over a Connecticut bill that would establish sweeping regulatory requirements for the development and use of artificial intelligence technologies.

The Consumer Technology Association says it “stands firmly against” SB 2 offered by state Sen. James Maroney (D), while BSA-The Software Alliance describes the current version of the bill as a “workable” proposal, adding it will continue to work with Maroney on potential revisions.
