Industry group says California’s new chatbot law strikes proper balance

The Software & Information Industry Association says California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has signed into law a chatbot regulatory bill that could be a model for other states until a federal law can be enacted, while praising the governor for vetoing a separate chatbot bill that the major tech industry group called a barrier to innovation.
