Industry group cites need for increased AI demand to justify domestic chip production

Getting companies to produce and use more computer chips from within the United States would require increasing the market for artificial intelligence and similar technologies across the globe, the Semiconductor Industry Association said in comments to the Office of Management and Budget, calling for an extension of CHIPS and Science Act investments.
