Industry, civil society groups target latest draft of House Energy and Commerce privacy bill

Civil society groups that backed a 2022 version of comprehensive privacy legislation are calling on the House Energy and Commerce Committee to postpone markup of a revised version that dropped provisions on algorithms and civil rights, while a key tech group is seeking significant changes to the measure.
