House Energy and Commerce panel to mark up evolving bipartisan privacy bill

The House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on data and innovation is slated Thursday to mark up landmark privacy legislation unveiled last month by full committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), even while the bill has not yet been formally introduced.

The bill, the American Privacy Rights Act, is still in discussion draft form as it was when unveiled by Rodgers and Senate Commerce Chair Maria Cantwell (D-WA) on April 7, signaling a renewed sense of urgency on moving the bill....
