Hawley-Blumenthal bill would task Energy Dept. with pre-release review of advanced AI

Sens. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) have a crafted a bill that would establish a risk evaluation program for frontier artificial intelligence models at the Department of Energy and require DOE within less than a year to produce recommendations for federal oversight of advanced AI.
