HackerOne: Warner letter bolsters case for AI research protections in Copyright Office proceeding

The security firm HackerOne is reiterating its call to update legal protections for AI researchers under review by the Copyright Office, saying a new letter from Senate Intelligence Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) bolsters the argument for expanding security-based exemptions from regulatory restrictions to include testing artificial intelligence systems for potential harms such as bias and discrimination.
