FCC’s reconstituted consumer advisory panel will delve into AI issues, including robocalls

The Federal Communications Commission is relaunching its Consumer Advisory Committee with a mandate to examine issues related to artificial intelligence and a membership including industry, public interest advocates and other key stakeholders.

“The CAC will focus on the implication of emerging artificial intelligence technologies on consumer privacy and protection, including how AI can help protect vulnerable consumer populations from unwanted and illegal calls, along with other consumer protection issues,” the FCC said in a Feb. 20 announcement.
