Energy secretary touts AI partnerships at national labs as second ‘Manhattan Project’

After testifying before Congress on the need for the Department of Energy to prioritize funding artificial intelligence research at the national labs and reduce regulations on energy development, Energy Secretary Chris Wright said his vision for a new “Manhattan Project” is now being executed.

“To me, there's just been one Manhattan Project, and I think we're launching the start of the second one,” he said, acknowledging the term “maybe gets overused.”
