The efficacy of the former Biden administration’s reliance on export controls to counter China’s push for AI supremacy is coming under increased scrutiny, particularly with the release of the China-based DeepSeek chatbot, as President Trump continues to formulate his approach to countering China and promoting U.S.-based artificial intelligence.
